Battle Bridge is now GOLD!

Big Announcement

Battle Bridge is now officially a game and its complete! ( Well technically )
After years of on and off and on and off development its time to go Gold this year. With a few iteration change, some rewrites, and some feature creep its finally done!

A quick history recap

On 27 January 2021, Battle Bridge was a R&D project for a FPS "bridge combat" something like a star trek or battleship Yamato where you view the space battle on the bridge, hence the project name "Battle Bridge". However there was 1 crucial limitation. Assets!

Because of that the first major iteration was to change to a R&D for Voyager Combat or "JRPG" style active combat hybrid. And the first Prototype was late August that same year.

Fast forward to this last year, where a big push to get the game to a more playable state and with some self restructuring this year on game dev it was time to get Battle Bridge to the finish line!

Key Feature 

Battle Bridge Have 3 main weapon Archetypes

  • Fast and Low Damage 
  • Balance (default)
  • Slow and High damage

Along with main weapons you also have access to Special weapons and bonuses which is called "Systems" such as

  • Stun weapon ( reset enemies weapon action bar )
  • Damage over time weapon
  • Auto Attack
  • Weapon buffs
  • and more

This game uses an hybrid turn base system, which was one of the main R&D task which is the "Action Turn Base", a similar resemblance to Final Fantasy 12/13 where by the Action Commands needs to fill up the "action bar" and then you can perform said action once its ready.

Also there is a hybrid shield system that i was trying out. a slight little mesh up with "FTL style shield" system and traditional RPG "shield".

And Lastly using the C.O.R.E System, yes i do love fallout a lot so here we are. 4 attribute for you to choose to level up using a progressive leveling system akin to souls game ( note: this is not a souls game ), as you do not gain experience but use a unified currency. 

With that some feature cuts were made. 

Previous build(s) i wanted a "Mining" gameplay so juggling between 2~3 currency. But that takes too much time to balance each other out and after many playthroughs it was deem unnecessary and i decided to cut that gameplay loop out. 

Next a visual overhaul, this was the biggest task on the list to bring Battle Bridge out from its prototype build. The first was to make sure that i am staying on Unity ( due to Unity was in a mess due to its various "fees", luckily they sort it out for the better ) and use their Universal Render Pipeline. some time was spend since April this year to learn and understand  the basics of it.

 And Lastly, the Release date!

Technically i can launch the game today, but i want to sync up with the date that i decided to put my idea to paper which is on the 27 of January 2021. To commemorate this Battle Bridge Full v1 build will be release on 27 January 2025!
